Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Zeth’s is a new player in the world of two wheels. Founded in 2016, the brand focuses on the premium segment, with its models ranging from 250cc to 1,000cc, consisting of cruisers, naked and sports bikes. One of its latest models stands out among Chinese motorcycles identical to some Japanese or European models, as it takes the form of a retro-inspired, fully-equipped sports bike.

It’s called the ZFR 525 R Avenger, a bike that appears to be the production-ready version of the ZFR 500 R concept we talked about in January. From a styling point of view, the Zeths ZFR 525 R takes the form of an 80s-inspired sports bike. Abandoning the angular, aggressive styling of today’s machines, the ZFR 525 R is equipped with a rounded fairing and twin headlights that give it a distinctly retro look. Underneath the retro fairing, the bike has a thoroughly modern base consisting of an inverted front fork and a monoshock with a monoshock at the rear.

In terms of performance, the ZFR 525 R has a fairly common engine when it comes to Chinese motorcycles – the 494 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine. Apparently this engine can be found in bikes from other Chinese brands, in particular Loncin and its premium affiliate, Voge. In the case of the ZFR 525 R Avenger, the engine has been tuned to produce 48 hp of power – an ideal fit for the A2 license criteria in Europe.

Other features of the Zeths ZFR 525 R include an aluminum frame, as well as the aforementioned single-sided swingarm at the rear, giving the bike a very premium aesthetic. The bike has double-disc brakes at the front with radially mounted four-piston calipers and a single disc at the rear. ABS also comes as standard.
